2010 Chevrolet Hennessey HP700 Camaro to make official debut at SEMA
We’ve seen the pictures. We’ve seen the videos. Now we’re finally going to see the Hennessey HPE700 Camaro in person when it makes its official debut at SEMA next week. There’s a lot to love with Hennessey’s halo musclecar, starting with the LS9 V8 from the ZR1 packing 725 horsepower and 741 lb.-ft. torque (up from the initial figures, 705 and 717 respectively). Those numbers are good for a 0-60 time of just 3.5 seconds, and the trip back to a complete stop takes just 104 feet thanks to 15-inch Brembo brakes. Then there’s the subtle Cam-Aero carbon fiber body kit that adds a front splitter, side skirts, rear bumper, and a diffuser, with the look is finished off with a set of Hennessey’s three-piece, 20-inch wheels.Expect plenty of photographs and our first person impressions when we come face to face with the HPE700 Camaro next week.
Hennessey will introduce their 2010 HPE700 LS9 Chevrolet Camaro early next month during the SEMA Show. The car uses a 6.2-liter supercharged engine that produces up to 725 horsepower and a huge 741 ft-lb of torque.
The company also plans to release two twin-turbo versions, with one producing between 800 and 850 hp and, and the other kicking out 1,000 hp and up to 900 ft-lb of torque.Top speed on the 725 hp version was not released, but it does hit 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds, reaching the quarter-mile mark at 11.3 seconds (126 mph). Slam on the brakes at 60 mph, and you will get to a dead stop in 104 feet.
This is because of the six-piston calipers at the front, and four-piston calipers at the back, from Brembo. 15-inch cross-drilled rotors are covered by 20×10 inch light alloy wheels up front, and 14-inch rotors are concealed by 20×11 inch wheels at back.
