Final McLaren SLR Roadster Heading for the U.S.
Production of the Mercedes McLaren SLR is starting to wind down, and now comes word that the final SLR roadster will be auctioned off in an online charity event.
To make the final SLR roadster even more exclusive, the company has gone out of their way to give it unique touches. The exterior features sienna pearl super metallic paint which is only available on this SLR roadster. The special paint has metallic elements that are three times more reflective than standard metallic paint, which gives the car a deep copper appearance. The richness of the exterior is also echoed in the special braking system which features gold brake calipers. Inside the roadster has unique tobacco brown composition leather with black accents.
The final SLR roadster will be featured in the Saks Fifth Avenue Holiday Catalog and is set to be auctioned off on November 20, 2008. Any profits above the car’s price of $529,500 will be donated to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
