Frankfurt Preview: Maserati to unveil Quattroporte Sport GT S

With a lot of attention being focused on the hot new GranTurismo, Maserati  decided to add some spice to its existing Quattroporte so it wouldn’t fall off people’s radar. It will be showing a new Quattroporte Sport GT S in Frankfurt next month, which will push the performance envelope a little further with a 6-speed automatic gearbox, revised suspension for better handling, upgraded brakes and a fresh aero treatment. The Quattroporte GT S also gets lowered 10mm in front and 25mm out back, plus stiffer springs and shocks.

For braking, Brembo has worked with Maserati to develop new dual-cast brake discs, which use cast iron and aluminum to help improve overall performance and reduce fade. Slightly larger rear tires (295/30-20) will improve handling and also help that Maserati V8 get its power to the ground. A more aggressive fascia with a black-chrome mesh front grille, body color door handles, new window trim, and twin exhaust tips at the rear are the changes you’ll see on the outside to help you identify this new sportiest Maserati. We’ll add some live shots to the gallery when we see the real thing in Frankfurt, but for now, click on the gallery for the official pics that Maserati sent out.
